Exterior Glass DoorsWhere's The Cheapest Place to Get Exterior Glass Doors |

Exterior glass doors come in a variety of shapes, sizes and hanging options. OK, maybe not shapes, since they are all rectangular, but you can get your exterior glass door in many widths and heights, including custom sizes. Companies like Lowe's and Home Depot have exterior glass doors in stock, but most of them won't be the right color, fit or finish for your home, so you will probably need to sit down with a sales person and find the exterior door that matches the look and feel that you are going for in your house. Lowe's sells doors from Therma-Tru, Reliabilt and ProSteel, while Home Depot sells exterior doors from Andersen, EMCO and Legacy Doors. Of course the EMCO and Andersen doors at Home Depot are all storm doors or security screen doors, so they don't really count. The Legacy Doors entry doors at Home Depot start at around $850.00 for a Trier 3/4 Oval Patina Prepainted Burgundy Steel Door with a Right Hand Swing, Model TR7401-P-P-SBR-RH, to their Gaston Half Circle Brass Prefinished Mahogany 6 Ft. 0 In. Double Door with a Right Hand Swing, Model GT7506-D-BR-MM-RH, which goes for over $3,500.00. Legacy Doors also has glass doors with glass sidelights, like the Concord Full Lite Patina Iron Prefinished Mahogany Door With 2, 14 Inch Sidelites and a Right Hand Swing, Model CC6001-14SL-PI-MM-RH, starting at around $3,800.00.
ReliaBilt, at Lowe's, has doors starting at around $280 for the ReliaBilt 36"W Center Arch Lite Steel Door Left Hand, Item # 66871, Model # RBHP0842PA30LB. The most expensive ReliaBilt is only a couple of hundred bucks,
but if you want a better door, you have to move up to the Benchmark by Therma-Tru 36"W Terracourt 3/4 Oval
Mahogany Fiberglass Door Right Hand, Item # 130159, Model # DMFGTC0186Z30RB, which still comes in at under
$600. Looking at all of Lowe's exterior entry doors, even including the ProSteel, Lowe's doesn't have any off
the shelf doors that are over $700.00. So, if you want a nice glass exterior entry door from Lowe's, you'll
have to special order it.

Home Depot and Lowe's both have exterior glass doors, and the prices are a lot less than if you have them made by a custom door maker. For example, Lowes has the Pella ThermaStar 6' 10 Series Clear Vinyl Sliding Patio Door, and that door has an overall user rating of 4 stars, and costs around $340. While the comparable JELD-WEN Vinyl Sliding Patio Door from Home Depot, in 72 In. x 80 In, with the right hand low-e glass, is only about $60 more at $397. Both of those sliding glass doors are still under $400, which is way less than you would pay from a local custom door maker. While they may not be the best doors in town, they are great for the average home, and offer a cheap exterior glass door that won't break the bank.
